A few things worth knowing.

Do I keep my current phone number?

Yes. People continue calling your existing number. You use your carrier’s call-forwarding controls to send incoming calls through RingZen. An iPhone running iOS 17 or later, a US mobile line and carrier call forwarding are required. Setup guides cover AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile; support varies by carrier, plan and line. Ask support before subscribing if you use another carrier or an MVNO. Keep forwarding off until your RingZen number and app are ready, then complete the guided call check.

Can I let selected callers skip screening?

Yes. Add their phone numbers to your VIP list in the app. VIP callers skip the keypad check and ring your connected iPhone directly. You can remove them at any time to restore screening. Your list belongs to your account; contact names and photos stay on your iPhone. Caller ID can be spoofed, so a VIP match does not verify the caller’s identity.

Do callers need an app or a secret code?

No. Callers use their ordinary phone keypad. The screening prompt tells them which digits to enter. Your chosen code is a simple interaction check, not proof of the caller’s identity.

Will RingZen stop every unwanted call?

No screening service can promise that. RingZen helps reduce automated interruptions by asking callers to complete a keypad check. Any caller who completes it can reach your phone, including unwanted human callers or automated systems that can follow the prompt.

What happens if I don’t answer?

With RingZen, the caller hears your personalized unavailable announcement and is asked to text instead. With Plus or Pro, a caller who passed screening can leave a message after an unanswered, declined or failed connection. Calls that don’t pass screening cannot leave voicemail.

Will it ring with my phone locked or in Focus?

RingZen supports incoming calls while your iPhone is locked and the app is in the background. Your iPhone needs an internet connection. iOS Focus settings can silence or reject a call; RingZen does not override them. Deliberately force-quitting the app can affect incoming-call delivery.

What does Pro do with voicemail?

Pro adds message search and reminders you can set for a callback. Optional transcription and AI summaries are off by default. When you allow analysis in the app, only new eligible voicemail is sent to Twilio for processing; older messages are not backfilled. You can turn analysis off at any time. Transcripts and summaries may contain errors, so the original recording remains available until you delete it or its retention period ends. Phone callbacks use the regular iPhone Phone app.

Are there limits on call minutes?

All plans include calling without monthly minute allowances or per-minute overage charges. Carrier forwarding and mobile-data charges may still apply.

Does RingZen replace my mobile service?

No. Keep your mobile service for outgoing calls, texts and emergency calls. RingZen screens forwarded incoming calls; it does not provide emergency calling, number porting or an SMS inbox. Legitimate callers who cannot use the keypad prompt may not get through. Turn forwarding off whenever you want calls to return directly to your mobile line.

How do cancellation and account deletion differ?

Subscription cancellation stops renewal at the end of the paid period. Turn carrier forwarding off before your service ends. Cancellation does not delete your account. Account deletion permanently closes the account and releases its RingZen number; a released number may be assigned to someone else. For billing questions, contact support.

Can I sign up today?

You can create an account and save your setup. Public subscriptions and App Store installation remain closed while we finish release checks. Approved pilot accounts can continue using their existing service.
